It may be necessary to provide COLTELLERIE BERTI with your personal data as requested at different times of collection in order to achieve the purposes identified in the relevant information note, or else providing such data may be optional.

Refusal to provide COLTELLERIE BERTI with some information marked as mandatory will make it impossible to achieve the purpose of the specific collection; this refusal may for example make it impossible for COLTELLERIE BERTI to fulfil the purchase contract for products on www.emporioberti.it or to provide other services available on www.emporioberti.it.

In any case, you have the right to oppose, in whole or in part:
a) for legitimate reasons, handling of personal data concerning you, even though pertinent to the purpose of collection;
b) handling of personal data concerning you in order to send you advertising or direct marketing material or to carry out market research or business communication.

Principles on which your personal data are handled

1. the data are handled exclusively for the purposes and in the manner shown in the information note presented at the time they were collected;
2. use of the data for purposes other than those for which they were specifically given only if the user expresses his consent;
3. making the data available to third parties only for purposes instrumental to the delivery of the service requested and in the context of an appointment of a data handler; not to communicate the data, give them or transfer them to any third party for handling by the latter without the users previously being informed and having expressed their agreement;
4. answering requests for deletion, amendment, integration of provided data, opposition to handling of data for purposes of sending commercial information and advertising;
5. ensuring correct and legal handling of data, safeguarding the privacy of users, and applying suitable security measures to safeguard the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the data conferred.

How and why we handle your personal data

Personal data are treated mainly electronically and on Internet by COLTELLERIE BERTI and by others who, appropriately chosen for their reliability and skill, carry out operations instrumental to the achievement of purposes strictly related to use of the website, its services and the purchase of products through the website.
The specific purposes for which data are handled are summarised, from time to time, in the information notice pursuant to Art. 13, Legislative Decree 196/2003, which is presented to the user when he issues personal data.
Generally speaking, the data are handled for the delivery of the following services which are available when you enter our website:

1. registration on the website, to make use of its services;
2. joining specific and further services, such as our newsletter COLTELLERIE BERTI NEWS and similar information services about our activity.
3. fulfilling orders and related activities;
4. handling your requests: technical, commercial, concerning progress of your orders and requests for information in the widest sense of the word;
5. making contact with our Customer Service.

When handling data which may directly or indirectly identify you personally, we try to respect a principle of strict necessity.
This is why we have configured the website to reduce the use of your personal data to a minimum. Therefore, we do not handle your data when the purposes to be achieved in single cases can be achieved by using anonymous data (for example, in market research aimed at improving services) or using other means which allow one to identify the person only in case of need or in case of request by the authorities or by the police (for example, with data on traffic or concerning your visit to the website or your IP address).

Your data will never be passed on to third parties unless this should be mandatory by law or necessary for purposes required by the law when consent for the same is not required by the person concerned; in such case, the data may be made available to third parties who will handle them independently and only for the aforementioned purposes (for example, in case of a request submitted by the police or by a court, or else to perform obligations stemming from the contract concluded with you, as in the case of reimbursement for having availed yourself of your right to return, only if you ask for it through bank transfer on current account requiring notification of your data to our Bank).

There are kinds of data handling for which the law does not require your consent: for example, we notify you that COLTELLERIE BERTI can handle your personal data without receiving your consent if this is necessary to perform an obligation required by the law or when it is necessary to fulfil obligations which we have taken by contract with you (as in the case when you have purchased products or have asked to make use of specific services through our website).

Finally, your personal data will not be transferred abroad to countries other than those belonging to the European Union, which do not ensure suitable levels of protection of privacy. Should it be necessary to provide you with the services or to conclude a contract with COLTELLERIE BERTI for the purchase of products, we assure you that the transfer of your personal data to countries which do not belong to the European Union and which do not safeguard privacy properly will be carried out only after specific contracts have been made out between COLTELLERIE BERTI and such parties in compliance with applicable law and regulations.

COLTELLERIE BERTI may find itself handling data of third parties communicated directly by users to COLTELLERIE BERTI, for example when the user purchases a product to be sent to a friend or when the person paying the price for purchasing the product is different from the person to whom the product should be sent or when the user intends to point out to a friend a service of www.emporioberti.it or an offer for sale of a certain product.

In such circumstances, COLTELLERIE BERTI will deliver to the third party the information notice provide for by art. 13, Legislative Decree 196/2003 at the time they register the data in the company files, but you will have to obtain, if necessary, permission from the person the data refer to before passing them on to COLTELLERIE BERTI and notify the person concerning this Protection of Privacy policy, since you will be the only person responsible for communicating such information and the data concerning third parties, without the latter having expressed their consent or for any improper or illegal use.
Please be advised that the consent of such people is not necessary when the data of the third party are notified to COLTELLERIE BERTI to conclude the contract with COLTELLERIE BERTI, in favour of the third party.
